BISWARUP CHATTOPADHYAY
Biswarup Chattopadhyay is The Artisan-In-Chief of Dum Dum Biswarupam.
He is the founder of Dum Dum Biswarupam on 21st February 2013. Which is officially registered on 13th September 2013 as a Society.
Biswarup Chattopadhyay is a Dramatist, An Actor and also Director. He studied at Rabindra Bharati University, Dept. of Drama and completed graduation on 2013. He completed his Master Degree in the year of 2015 with a specialization on "Theatre & Videography".
Now he is pursuing his Ph.D. Degree from Rabindra Bharati University, Dept. of Drama on Theatre. His research is over ব্রাত্য বসুর আড়াই দশকের (১৯৯৫-২০২০) নাট্যযাপন ও সমকালীন বাংলা থিয়েটার. (BRATYA BASUR ARHAI DASHAKER (1995-2020) NATYAJAPAN O SAMAKALIN BANGLA THEATRE).
Biswarup Chattopadhyay has won numerous national and international awards for his contributions to theatre. He got UNIFEST Best Mimicry Artist Award (East Zone) in 2010, UNIFEST Best Director in 2011, Indo-Bhutan Cultural Award (by Paro University, Bhutan) in 2012, Best Spokesman Award, Dum Dum Assembly 2018 (Sub: Swadhinata, Bangla & Mamata Bandyopadhyay) in 2018, Chandrakala Padak (by Chandrakala Theatre, Dhaka, Bangladesh) in 2023, India-Sri Lanka Cultural Bridging Award (by Plato Academy, Colombo, Sri Lanka) in 2024.
As the ARTISAN-IN-CHIEF, the play CHARANDAS (BENGALI) got a chance to perform at Bharat Rang Mahotsav 2025 at BHOPAL by the invitation of NATIONAL SCHOOL OF DRAMA, MINISTRY OF CULTURE, GOVT. OF INDIA.
